Hogejaku Day【For Saihokai Members】
放下著 (Hogejaku) is a Zen phraze meaning “Let go of everything.”
In the busyness of daily life, we tend to carry far more than we need.
To truly recognize what matters most, we must first pause and let it all fall away.
In this program, we will begin by offering you some questions.
Please place your smartphone in your bag. Step away from the constant flow of information, and take the questions as a guide to quietly reflect within yourself.
In the gentle afternoon at Saihoji, as time drifts softly through the garden, what will you choose to let go of, and what will you discover in its place?
After entering, you are welcome to spend your time freely. You may sit and quietly gaze at the garden from the Kannon-do Hall, a space that is usually closed to the public.
As this program is designed as a digital detox for personal reflection, please refrain from taking pictures. You will enjoy a slightly different experience from the usual visit to Saihoji.
===
Hogejaku Day will be offered seasonally going forward. You are welcome to return from time to time, using this as a place to gently restore a sense of inner balance. With each visit, you may come to recognize more deeply the preciousness of what already exists, and feel your mind gradually settle.
