Ori-ori Sanpai

“Hogejaku” is a Zen word meaning “let go of everything.”

In our busy daily lives, we tend to carry a lot with us unknowingly.
To discover what is truly important to us, we must let go of everything we hold on to.

Put your smartphone away in your bag.
Step away from everyday life flooded with information.
That alone can create breathing room, allowing you to listen to your inner self.

What remains within you even after letting go.
Perhaps, recognizing this is the true meaning of chisoku (知足), or knowing how much is enough.

- Once inside, you are welcome to explore as you wish.
- You may visit Kannon-do Hall or the upper garden (usually closed to the public).
- Please refrain from taking photographs.

Hogejaku Day will be held on a seasonal basis going forward. We would be delighted if you could come and visit from time to time to center yourself.

[Important notes when reserving your visit]
-Participation in this program is limited to Saihokai supporters only.
-Creation of your account is required for making a reservation.
-Personal data, such as names of each visitor, are required for making a reservation.
-The garden paths are not wheelchair accessible, as the temple grounds include steps and areas covered in gravel.
-Please refrain from taking pictures during this program.

[Change/Cancellation]
The date and time of the visit cannot be changed. If you wish to change the date and time of your visit, please cancel your reservation and make a new one. Cancellations (including reduction in the number of participants) will be subject to the following cancellation fees.
